    Default soggy floor.....

I noticed this morning the passenger footwell is a bit soggy. Ive checked the drain on the bulkhead and there was no water blocked up inside. My first thought was that perhaps it was old moisture from a previous blockage that hadn't been dried up properly and that the rain this morning was just coincidence. But I checked it again at 3pm and it feels as though its dried up somewhat?!?

What strikes me as odd is that it is only the horizontal section of the footwell that was wet, as it slopes up to the bulkhead, its bone dry!?!

Its just started lashing it down outside again so when it stops I'll go and check the carpet. If it is wet again, does anyone have any suggestions where else I should be looking for leaks which would result in this localised damp?

    Cheers.

Is the rear dry. As I read somewhere about the rear quarter lightletting water in, and wondered if it could have run along the floorpan?.

tbh, sustained pressure anywhere on the carpet (front and rear) seems to draw some moisture which smells musty so Im guessing its been there some time. The boot is bone dry thou?!?

It is posible then that the leak is coming from the rear of the car somewhere.

Where would be a good place to start looking? or is it likely to be a wild goose chase?

    Have a look here.http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...+rear+footwell
Also put water in rear footwell in the search bar. When I did it it came up with quite a bit of information. This is where I get the above link from.

Im still confused... before I went to bed I checked the carpets and although there was some moisture, it was no where near as bad as it was Sunday morning. We've had absolutely no rain over night yet both the front and rear passenger side footwells are wet again this morning?!?

After some more poking about and a bucket of water...... when I pour water down the passenger side of the windscreen (into the drain away by the pollen filter) water drains out behind the wheel (as expected) but nearly as much water drains from a hole 1/2 way along the footwell and another just about level with the b pillar.

when I pour the same amount of water down the other side, again it drains out behind the wheel but only a small amount through the 1st hole and none from the second further back.

    Is this normal?
