help with wheel bearing please

Hi the wheel bearing is shot on the vectra its (osf).I think i have found one on ebay but not 100% its the right one (1.8 03 plate vectra)

Yes it looks ok, however when i fitted one i had to switch the wires around inside the plug for some reason,

But thats the only issue i had,

That looks the right one,might be worth sending them your reg no so if its wrong its their fault and not yours!

Are you doing it yourself or having it done in a garage etc?

Its technically difficult,if you have the torx sockets etc,but if you're not sure its probably better to get a garage to do it,id offer to do it for you but im about an hour north of the border.

ive just had mine done at a local garage ,he got an aftermarket part and it was putting the abs light on so tried another one still no good so had to buy a genuine on from stealers and abs light went off straight away when fitted so be careful if its an aftermarket one

Just done my f.o.s wheel bearing on Sunday-done the other side last year.
If you are going to do it yourself, you need the following
E18 and E20 Torx socket
32mm Deep socket
Axle stands and jacks
Breaker Bars( i used a 600mm and 450mm) to undo and tighten the wheel axle nut-250Nm and the Caliper Bolts 230Nm.
Dead Blow hammer or mallet/similar to remove disc and to remove bearing assembly.
Plusgas dismantling oil

I removed the alloy wheel and put on the spare.

Lowered the car on to the ground and using the 600mm breaker bar with the 32mm socket, loosened the driveshaft retaining nut after spraying with Plusgas.

Jacked car up and placed on axle stands and wedged the rear wheels to prevent movement, removed the spare wheel and removed the driveshaft retaining nut.

Spray with Plusgas and remove the 2 caliper retaining bolts, unplug ABS from socket, displace the caliper and tie it up and out of the way onto the suspension spring.

Remove disc by undoing disc retaining bolt with allen key and knock it loose with the soft blow hammer/mallet.

Spray with plusgas and undo the 3 bolts at the rear of the bearing assembly(the top one is a bit of a problem regarding access, but it can be done with patience).

Removing the old bearing assembly is a bit of a problem as they are jammed in tight, however I used a bearing puller(from ebay £4) to push the driveshaft loose from the bearing.
To loosen the bearing assembly I used one of the old bolts that secured the bearing assembly(I had new ones).
I put it through one of the threaded holes on the bearing assembly and tightened it up against the housing that the bearing assembly fits into.
This then forced the bearing assembly from it's housing and using a flat screwdriver I was able to extract it.

This left the ABS part still in the housing, which requires removal.

Clean everything up and I put grease in the bearing housing/axle shaft to aid assembly

Put the new bearing assembly in the housing ensuring the ABS lead is facing towards the front of the car.

I then put the driveshaft retaining nut on to drift the bearing assembly into it's housing and when sufficiently in far enough I tightened the top bolt at the rear of the bearing assembly first and then the bottom two-it was a lot easier this way.

Replaced disc and secure with allen bolt.

Replaced caliper,give it a clean with brake cleaner, clean up caliper bolts, apply new threadlock and tighten bolts to 230Nm, be careful it is very tight and requires a bit of force.

Plug in ABS.

Tighten up driveshaft retaining nut as much till it bites.

Check everything and clean again with brake cleaner.

Put on spare wheel, lower car onto ground and tighten driveshaft retaining nut to 150Nm, loosen the nut by 45 degrees and then tighten to 250Nm.

Jack back up again and remove spare wheel, check everything again and put on normal wheel.

Lower to ground and pump the foot brake and road test.

Oh dear....

Had the vectra in to a local garage a couple of weeks ago to fit the bearing.But think summit is not right when i brake it feels like the abs is kicking in also noticed today when i was reversing from the drive there is a strange noise when the wheel was on full lock like a sort of metal clicking noise any ideas?
