    Default Can anyone help

Just a quick one peeps a friend of mine has a veccy c 2.0 DTI club and has just phoned me to say its failed its first MOT on a broken front spring so his question to me was

" is it covered under year 3 warranty" the warranty runs out today the car was MOT'd at a main agent it has done 39,000 miles the car is out of NQ warranty by about 6 months BUT he did log a fault in november concerning the front suspension and was told "its fine no fault found"

A quick and speedy reply would be much appreciated as they have quoted £200 plus VAT to fix it

Also he is not a member on here due to not having internet

    Thanx in anticipation
    Chris

I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be covered under the VX warranty - but hopefully somebody else knows for definite.

Just quickly rang my dealer. Guy there said spring should definitely be under Vx warranty - shocks are on a 'case by case' basis as they are classed as a service item.

His dealer, if they're in any doubt, are able to ring up VX, give the details of the problem, mileage and age of the car and Vx will clarify to them if it's covered - but from what I've just been told it definitely is.

Have just spoken to my mate and he said the service manager has told him "Road springs are only covered for 3months or 1500 miles"

now i do know they say this for dampers but have never heard this for springs!!!!!!

Service manager said he was more than welcome to contact VX customer services but assured him they would say the same !!!

Any thoughts on this folks ??

Well, given my earlier conversation with my dealer all I can really add to that is.......

    "Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullllllllllllllllllll s**t!!"

They guy I spoke to at my dealer wasn't the warranty person (they were on holiday), but he's the Service Manager. He said that they have replaced springs under warranty.

Did the service manager bother to ring Vx to confirm the situation with springs? - or did he just 'know better'? Why should your mate have to ring Vx Customer Service if the Service Manager hasn't even checked with Vx himself?

Tell the service manager to contact Vx, with your mate there in front of him. As D said, coil springs are covered under warranty for 3 years or 60,000 miles.
