Default Twin Setup Urgent Help Required

I recently bought a irmsher y piece and a sri right hand back box to fit on my CDTi 150.

I followed the instructions and cut the original pipe where instructed, fit both boxes but the original left hand box sticks out about an inch further than the right hand box.

I have pushed the left hand box as far on the y piece as i can and the left is just hanging on the y piece.

What can i do? Can i cut a little bit off the y piece (left side) so they are equal?

    Help please !!

Cutting a little bit back on the Y peice makes sense.

The other way, is to push the Y peice on further onto the centre section, this will give you more adjustment on the box's.

Thanks for that - its snowing now so it will have to wait till next week. It took 6 weeks to get the parts so one more week won't hurt.

By cutting the y piece, will it not affect the position of the back box to the cut out? If you know what i mean?

probibly best to ck that out first ..I see where your coming from ,by shortening the one side it might not reach the cutout

I reckon the best bet is to shave off a little from the centre section of the exhaust where you have already cut it.

i cant do that as it would make that box further in.

i really need to line up before cutting.

this is what is short, thinking of cutting an inch where the arrow points to.

Sorry for stealing your photo Maverick, hope you don't mind

ok just had a thought ...maybe the best option is to cut an inch off the box and not the y piece

That could be a good idea, and then it shouldn't affect the line up.
