Quick Q please

My Dad's 02 1.8 Elite has been stood for 10 days, came to go out in it this morning and neither key fobs would work...looked in the car and the immobiliser light isnt flashing...would indicate a flat battery.

I know if i unlock the door with the key the alarm will go off...if i then turn the key in the ignition will it turn the alarm off even if it has a flat battery?

...thought as much really, could do with knowing it WILL though...dont want to have the car sat here with the alarm blaring

Has there been a prune of registered members who hadnt posted?...just im sure i registered ages ago, came to log in today and had to re-register.

Don't worry mate, the alarm doesn't 'blare' at all. Infact it's very quiet.

I know what the alarm does though, and it's not that quiet

...he had some probs with it where the alarm would just go off with no reason...few leccy problems with it too...keep's coming up "Check Safeguard" all the time on the display too.

Possibly m8. We do a monthly prune of people who have never posted and haven't visited the site for 90 days or more (both criterial need to be met). You may have been one of them.

Just to update on the situation:

AA called out this morning...and to cut along story short, the battery was flat, there was a drain on the system, and after a short elimination process, it was found to be in the central locking system.

So its off back to Vauxhall to kick some @$$!

Big blow-up this morning at Vauxhall dealer with my Dad and the MD...MD walked off...came back about 10 minutes later, and basically said he wanted nothing more to do with the car or my Dad...utter git!

Unless you were really rude and threatening towards the MD he has no right to do that, you also need to know that being personal, threatening to bash him wont do you any favours however frustrated you are at the time, if you've conducted yourselves properly I think you should contact the dealers head office and tell them, remember they will probably have video survellance of the whole event, so as long as you have acted proper you have a case.
