Took my vecci into evans halshaw on a66 in middlesbrough...
the car was knocking over bumps, brakes were grinding.
they had the car for the day, i went to pick it up and got told, the brakes are not covered under warranty, but they've had words with vx and got the go ahead, but they need to order the parts and book it in again, he said we've replaced the "somthing" bushes on the front and the knocking seems to have gone now.
he asked if I’d noticed a slight screeching noise, I said no, and he said, well he had and they've ordered a new drive belt and pulley.
I come away very impressed to be honest.
Went back, after I received a letter telling me to go book it in, so I did, and on that day I got told it’s already booked in for today for the brakes and pulley. Oh I said, I never booked it in & the knocking has returned. neway, I took the car in the next day.
went to pick it up after work, and I got told the knocking is still present after replacing rad mounts, spring seats, rollbar bushes, etc etc, he said we would have liked to replace the front strut, but its not covered under warranty, so I said it was covered under network q he said gr8, well have that part ordered then.. so I said, look I’ll just leave the car with you, that that point a "technician" drives in the garage, narrowly missing my car by about 1" slamming the anchors on! As the whole workshop shouted ""whooooowwwwwwwww""
Next day, i go back, seen the car, in the car park.... with the front of the car well wedged into a bramble bush!! not impressed, I went over, had a look at the car, and noticed old brakes were still on the car... so I went in, asked if its was ready, and got told, its ready, but they'd like to take it for a test drive before handing it back...
So i said, if it’s ready why haven’t the brakes been done? the brakes aren’t covered i got told!... after a but of a argument about what he and I spoke about previously, he goes away, then comes back saying the paperwork got lost!.. And the brakes should have been replaced.
Me: "rite so who’s the fuvcking idiot who has parked my car in the bramble bush"
oh werm it wasn’t me! I got told.
Goes away comes back, the manager has been made aware and apologises.
I left things at that and walked away, because I could have seriously flipped, does saying sorry take out scratches from paint work!?
Had a call, saying the brakes are now done, the knocking has gone, and the belt and pulley is done, would you like to come and pickup the car... we have washed it for you! Lol (I really rather they didn’t!!!)... I said I’ll pick it up when I’m ready.
So I’m still yet to pick it up...
No real purpose to this post other than for me to have a whinge, but maybe it might make guys in the north-east think again about evans halshaw.
