mine got 193bhp at wheels and someone told me it was 220bhp at fly but i dont understand it all because on internet calculater it says 225bhp :S lol
Different calculators will say different things, most I see on the net (one of which I posted here previously) use the following formula:
Wheel Bhp + 10 / 0.9 = fly wheel bhp (front wheel manual).
However they are only estimates!
what does the car feel like now to drive is it noticable?? did they do the fly by wire thing like regal offer?? i have the 3.2 also
any help would be great as i want to do this too
cheers
paul
using the manual calculation of +10 and divide by .88 that i was given there on the day i have 228bhp at the fly. But i was also told that with it being a auto it would lose a fair bit more than a manual would, hence i say 230+. The calculations on the dvd are all lower than orignally quoted due to +10 not being added before, and all cars were calculated the same regardless of fwd/rwd and man/auto.
As for the quality of drive, ye its much stronger at lower revs imo. I noticed it most in 2nd gear. Pulls very strong rite from 2k revs with 210lb-ft at the wheel. Hagga also had his manual gsi mapped if ya want a 2nd opinion mate
Roughly:
Flywheel HP = Wheel HP/0.80
Where 0.85 is the Efficiency/100 - Typically 80-85% for gearboxes/transmission losses.
Gazza4
Which would actually make mine 238.75bhp at the fly but due to the ammount of different calculations i have been given ive now came to just say 230+
I read a proper test a while back on a 3.2 gsi (will try to find it if i can on google) that showed the gsi losing a slight bit over 20% before hitting the wheels! I have also seen a rolling road test on youtube showing a gsi only getting 168bhp at the wheels in standard form (dunno if its anyones here?)

Thats the vid on youtube of the standard gsi getting 167bhp at the wheels in standard form
Hello all, I have just seen this thread on having a re-map and was looking at the great results. I would like to have a re-map but am down in Oxford and am waiting to hear from Thorney to see what they have to say with regards to price and gains.
Hey, what engine you got? the best gains are to be had on the turbos. Dont regret having mine done though even if the gains aint as impressive as the turbos
