recall on the cdti ALTERNATOR

iv been to vauxhall today and iv been told that there is a recall on the ALTERNATOR there is some type of charge prob on them
the recall was put out in late november so there maybe a few of you needing to take a trip to get things looked at

been told they have to take it of the car to test it then order the new one ,,
they want my car for 2 days

but i did get some good news they can do a 60k service for £160 all in

any specifics mate, range of period of cdti's? and what caused you to put it in their anyhow. Massive load from them small subs your running ?

Mine was done the other week had an msn conversation with Duncan about it as I couldnt put it in the recalls section said he would try to find out more

mine is a 2004 1.9 cdti 150 elite not short about what others may have the same ALTERNATOR


my ALTERNATOR seams fine it was my airbag light staying on,, it may had something to do them not pluging my seat back in

Yeah they just replaced it 1.9 cdti 120 on an 04

OK update FYI on the recall I have the official Vx document in front of me.. Its to do with it NOT charging the battery due to a blown diode.

Only vehicles equipped with a Denso Alternator (105A/120A/130A) and 1.9Diesel engine listed in the VIN info have to be reworked.

All vehicles reworked have to be cleary marked by a blue paint dot on the coolant expansion tank

I just had a new alternator fitted to my 54 plate CDTi, the battery light would come on when running then if you turned the ignition off it would stay off.

Booked it in with the local VX dealer, but it knackered before it was due to go in. So the AA came and took it.

just found out that i have a prob with my alternator.my traction control light comes on aswell as my battery light and my revs and speedo zero out then come back on.read the pages and just wondered if anybody could tell me if it is covered or what is my next step,just looking for help,thanks for whatever you can do for me .

No mate, if i remember correctly, all cover finished in December 2007.
My alternator packed in - in the november so i just made the free replacement.
If you get it done at the dealers, your looking at about £600 !
