Hi mikey...still making a list and collecting the parts I think I'll need ....
I plan to use a simple 15/20amp ON/OFF relay powered by the rear off side fog light feed using a suitable snap-lock connector & run a wire from this via a 1 amp line fuse to a terminal on one side of operating coil of this relay; which I plan to mount at a convenient point in the engine bay battery/fuse/ relay chamber, the other side of the coil being connected to a convenient earthing point...then take a main feed for the fog lamps directly from the positive battery terminal via a weatherproof 15/20amp weatherproof line fuse to one side of the relay switching contacts..the other side of which will be connected to the 'input' terminal of each fog lamp..the other terminal of each lamp then connected to earth/ground...
In theory all the circuits necessary to make them work will be in place, so when the weather warrants the need to use the rear fog light... operating the existing 'button' to switch-on the rear fog light will also energise the relay, so when its coil operates & the contacts close the front fogs should also switch on...I hope with no ECU/Tech2 issues which I understand you've tried without any issues

...
I plan to make temporary connections to try out the theory to see if there are any issues, before fitting the components..
The parts I ordered fog lights & inserts, have arrived from each of the Vxl dealers & were all correct...lights look pretty good to me...however one fog light was damaged when I opened up the parcel one of the fixing struts for the N/S fog lamp was broken

..
Contacted the dealer who I ordered it off after Emailing them with attached pictures of the damaged lamp...they are sending another at no charge...no haggling...and when I offered to send the damaged on back to them...they said don't bother...keep it for spares....I must admit I was very very surprised at this......

The only problem I now have is the fact that I fitted front parking sensors as part of a 6 sensor kit about 12 months ago with continuous cable runs from these front sensors to the module fitted adjacent to the rear N/S fuse/relay chamber in the boot....so removing the front for fitting the fogs raises a problem as there is literally no slack in the sensor wiring cable to allow easy removal of the front bumper....

however, I'm working on that one....

Photo's of the lamps & inserts to follow.....
Cheers
