    Default Brake wear sensor

Just ordered some new tyres, so when i get them fitted this weekend, Im gonna replace the broken Brake wear sensor while the wheels are off the car

Ive ordered part no 13139260 for a 3.0 Signum 2004 model

Vauxhall list 2 different ones though, this one is a little over 300mm the other is way over 600mm

any ideas why there should be 2 differnt ones??

even the main dealer didnt know why

I've never heard, or seen on EPC, of two different lengths.

I also think you've got the wrong part number there. 13139260 is for chassis numbers after 41048790, 13131256 is for chassis numbers after 31068239 on that engine. I'm assuming with yours being an 03 it won't be in the 04xxxxxx range? You can check by looking at the last eight digits of your VIN.

    Mines an 04 not 03

this was the number off the VX computer, but the longer one also had the same number except for the last digit being a 1 not a 0

Just looked at my vin no in the service manual
it starts 31 in the last 8 digits

if thats any help to you?

Hmm, that's a new one then. Was the 300mm a bit of a stretch from the connector on that engine? The 2.8 and 3,2 are also listed with that same part so interesting that it's only on the V6 models.

Simple answer is that given what you've said i.e. the 600mm one being another part number I've no idea. I suppose if in doubt then replace with what would have been on the car originally - unless you find out what the reason for the longer one is. The only reason I can think is that on the V6s the path from the connnector to the brake pad is longer? and they've brought out this longer one to avoid any strain on the wire? I'm clutching at straws now! lol

This query cropped up on my 2002 GSi. Dealer wasn't sure which one (the old one was still on the car) so I ordered both and took the one I didn't use back for a full credit

i would ignore epc chassis break,i found this out when i had a 3.0,as far as i know the differences are due to half and full canbus so the change should be for 2005 model year, the plug on the end is different, from memory the early lead has a black plug and the later one has a blue plug

Hmmmmm you have to deal with SENSOR, BRAKE LINING WEAR so you can do it ...in time with no hurry since the car is working with or without them.....as for availability ....they are not considered as a fast moving item so....too hard to stock them.

IIRC, the "long" one (early model), has the black plug, part no. V0024427919 which is the one I fitted to my 2002 GSi. The blue shorter one is V0013139260. Took these part numbers from receipts only 1 month old. Both @ £9.85 + VAT, retail price at VX garage.

    Any use?
