Eek 3.0 V6 Belt change quote

i have just received a qiote from a vx dealers in n.ireland (Townparks)for a belt change ,water pump and tensioners done ,and it is wait for it.........
this is copied from the reply i received.

Thank you for your recent price enquiry for a timing belt, tensioner and water pump replacement on a Signum 3.0 v6 cdti.

The total cost for a new timing belt, tensioner and water pump is £579.51 including VAT and labour.

my question for you guys is this a decent quote i personally was thinking in and around the £450 mark ,so i think it is abit high.

still to try a few other dealers to compare.

Hmmmmm, paid £594.00 on my 3.2 petrol for cambelt, water pump. auxillary belt and for them to do the spark plugs (a pig of a job for me). And this was near West London .

    Yours looks a bit steep?

thats exactly why i i'm getting it done.
i spoke to a guy who works in vauxhall service and he said he would be happy leaving it to the 80k mark ,but if the belt goes with the decline in the market i think i would be striping the siggy to sell on ebay as it would not be worth fixing

When getting a quote, also try and obtain details of the number of hours for each job and their hourly rate

Sorry to Big Neil, slightly off topic here..........

65479 miles. They even put all the old bits in the boot without me asking as well. Now I'm no expert on cambelts but the old one looked in pretty good nick - no cracking, teeth looked Ok etc.

I had sooooo many different answers as to when to change it, both on the forum, loads of dealers and VX themselves at Luton, ranging from 40k to 80k, so I just bit the bullet and had it done.
