    i have just unscrewed the tops of my battery and 2 of the holes need filled up a bit what do i need to get is it distilled water

    You still got one that needs topping up?

    Most I've had lately are the sealed one's, apart from the leisure battery on the caravan.

    Yes distilled water, your supposed to use that in steam irons as well, stops all that limescale build up.

    Yes, distilled water, do NOT use tap water. I knew a young lad once did, despite being told not to. Had to get battery drained and refilled with fresh acid.

    That seemed an ongoing fight while I was still in the mob.... young plonkers straight out of the factory were told the basics of 'first parading' a rover or MK/MJ, yet no-one pointed out to them 'top up with battery water' meant coming to the LAD for distilled/de-ionised water.

    LAD battery shop was always busy in every unit!

    Even the sealed ones can be topped up. They have a reservoir that tops the battery up by itself, but eventually that reservoir runs dry. If you can locate it then you can top it up to make the battery last longer. If you remove the label on top of the battery, sometimes you can see the outline of the removable cover to access the reservoir.
