Has Anyone Had This Happen

first things first why me?????????

hi guys just been down to the car and WAMMM a big patch of oil underneither i bet your thinking i make half the stuff up but you would be thinking wrong

now the guy who works at vauxhall is a good friend of mine just had it up to him and he says its a seel in engine that needs replacing and its a major job engine out ETC

just wondered if any of you have had this problem

i really need some info on this as i am panicing on what to do i have a baby due next month and i cant afford the £250 job he has quoted

please help me out guys how much did it cost you if you have had it happen or if you work on htese cars please guys im in a major stress now

Ask him what seal it is...

If its the rear crank seal then it the engine will need to come out...

I take it it was ok before you put it in for gearbox work, if so dig them up about it. I am not an expert but I recall something from an earlier thread. to do with seal and gearboxes. No doubt one of our more knowledgeable members will be able to help.

Your not having much luck with this car bud.

* What seal is it?

* Its probable that this seal has been disturbed or related to your recent gearbox swap/ repair.

Get a second opinion - even if your mechanic is VX trained - there may be an alternative to engine out...

Sorry to hear that mate but just don't you come near my car, your bad luck on legs... At the rate you're going, you might as well have the engine over hauled first as last.

lol yeah might aswell get a new engine scratch that amount i have spent on this i could have got the GSI i always wanted and insured it for a year

It does sound like its been disturbed when they have ahd the box out. Its easier to take the box out to so it, rather than the engine.
