dashboard light, should i worry?

Hey, About half hour ago i put £20 of fuel in my car, it was running really low. As soon as i left the garage the exhaust gases light has lit up (directly below the fuel guage) and my engine feels really sluggish and is juddering quite badly. Any ideas as to why its doing this? (i drive a 1.8 petrol sri)

no, that was my first thought put i remember picking up a green handle and the reciept backs me up

How low is "really low"? Could have sucked some muck through from the bottom of the tank

I had 8 miles left on the screen, this is what I'm hoping is the problem, as I've only put regular shell in the car the last few times I've topped up, as they've been out of vpower, which is the only fuel I've ever put in the car

put sum redex through it incase u got gunk in the pipes!!!!

A good dose of Redex folowed by a hard run up the motorway

if its like a signum fuel pump it has a very fine mess on the bottom were it sucks the (diesel in my case) petrol up it blocks there and have to take tank off (easyest i found)to clean it so if you did suck gunk up it will be on the fine mesh.............thats if the petrol and diesel pumps are the same (id say they all have a fine mesh on them but i maybe wrong)

change the fuel filter under the offside rear door, just seconds to do and it may help

Thanks for all the reply's, gonna try redex tomorrow, and my cars going in for a service and MOT next weekend so the filters will be changed then as well
