Default Front wipers does not like cold weather

    Hi everyone,

During these cold weather, my car does not like it at all is a SRI 1.9 CDTI, when i push the wiper stalk down, it should move up once and then comes back down again, but instead is either move up a step at a time when you keep tapping the stalk or it move up and down quickly and does not stop. Thats only when you push the stalk down, you push it upwards is functions normal. Only happens in cold weather. Has anybody else had this problem?

Default Front wipers / cold weather

Have similar symptoms (Had the symptoms sunday and monday and again today -this week (-4 deg temperatures) and a couple of times twelve months ago).
When I press wiper stalk down, wipers stay on - cannot switch off - they also stayed on for 15-20 seconds after removing the ignition key. It misses out intermittent and goes on to normal speed also. The wipers will then not park correctly after switching off - this can only be achieved by pressing the stalk down until the wipers are in 'your' desired park position. Only have this problem when extremely cold - it was -7degs this morning. Once temp increases to -2 or above, everything works fine. Car went into Vauxhall dealer on tuesday this week but fault could not be re-created. Cannot believe that Vauxhall are not aware of the issue as several reports on this site alone.
Mine is an 07 plate Vectra SRi Estate.

Has anybody had any success with a repair from Vauxhall - they are at least aware of my problem as the 3year Vauxhall warranty runs out in April this year.

Thanks. Me too the warranty runs out in April. I agree Vauxhall surely should know about this. But they will probably recall the cars 4 years lol.
