    Default ****** misfire still!

OK, this is really starting to grind me. Problems on my '03 3.2 Vectra.
Car drives fine, although a touch thirsty. However when I sit in traffic or am just crawling then it starts to misfire and the EML light comes on. Doesn't generally go into limp mode, just twice it has decided to go limp!
I've had a few codes thrown up, P0300, 0301, 0303 and 0305. The whole bank. Have put new plugs in and coil pack. Disconnected the battery and all was fine for 80 miles, but once I was sitting on the clutch, back into misfire. Replaced the coil pack again in case it was defective. No change.
I have put some redex in and gone on a 200 mile round trip and no difference, all fine until near to home and as soon as I'm sitting at a junction waiting it has the misfire.
Can anyone point me in the direction of the best course of action to try next? I'm assuming that no other sensor is dying because surely this would have thrown up it's own code. Also don't really want to hand it over to a dealer and pull my pants down!
    Please help!

Mine has a misfire too and is at the stealers as I couldn't sort it. I had the same codes, will 11 in total the first time and changed the plugs and it was fine for 2 days and now its back and I was the same as you, really chuffed off. I know it will not be cheap but it at the right place.

I got a call today from the stealers to say the car was fixed.

The bill was only £108 and asked why it was so cheap. The said that 1 of the plugs that controls the inlet flaps to the rear bank had come off and it just need recalibrating. This was done on Friday and to make sure the car was ok, it had been driven 70 miles by the service manger over the weekend. It now has a little whistle when you let the throttle off that it didn't have before or it could be me just hearing things.

So all seems fine now but I'm not so sure.

Its back again. The car went back to the stealers on Monday. I've now got to part with £415 to fix it. This is the 3rd time in 3 weeks. The car is fine for 4 days then its spits its dummy out.

If it not done right this time i'm on the phone to VX customer service and they will get

Not sure if the coolant temperature sensor would throw out faults but I would try replacing that as it is cheap and easy to do!

OK, will do. I'm sure that it will be a sensor or something.
Also, does anyone know what the wiring is called that plugs into the coil pack, and and where the other end would be? This might be worth a change.

Hi Johnny, I would definitely get the timing checked mate, I had a look back through and it was actually on this forum I found a post from someone with the same problem.
