    New to the forum. I got rid of my last Vectra 2 years ago and made the mistake of buying an MG ZT. I'm ready to go back to Vectras!

    I'm looking for a diesel, preferably high performance. Hatchback or estate between 2003-2006.

    hello & welcome mate. vectra diesel is not a bad place to start for perfromance. i thought id never buy a diesel till i drove my Vecy. the torque astonished me. the 120 cdti is supposedly the safer bet. the 150 goes well & has good tuning capabilities bt has a few common faults, egr, inlet manifold, DMF etc. i dont know much about the V6 Derv though. sure someone else can help you out on that one.

    Thanks for the info. It was the 150 I had been looking at, so is going to cost a lot to keep repairing and should be avoided? I assume the 2.2DTi should be avoided from looking at others posts.

    they are ok if they are looked after. there are alot of people who have had faultless driving from their 150's. if you look at one just check the swirl bar is still attatched & functioning properly, the DMF isnt chattering/Failing, The springs are ok. FSH. & goes like a rocket it should be ok. if you like it after driving it all you can do is take the plunge.i made the mistake of not checking the common faults as i didnt know about them till i found this very helpful site. (thanks everyone by the way). & found my inlet manifold was ******ed. & DMF was failing
