Default My V6cdti brill in snow

Wow. Because the engine is so heavy and with traction control I have had no trouble going up hills today . It's been a dream driving my beloved Vectra.

Good to hear some success stories about the Vec for a change. My dti is quite good for the same reasons

We only get 1 day snow a year if we are lucky. If it snows here it snows everywhere. Fun while it lasted. Great to see how it handled in the snow.

At least most cars will spin or slide on ice
The 3.0 V6 CDTI won't even let you apply power!

Equally, Traction Control on snow doesn't work, you should be switching it off
I have to switch it off to get from my house to the main road, once there I need to reduce my speed to under 10mph so that I can switch it back on again

My 120 CDTi 888 has had no issues with the conditions....I have had issues with other motorists blocking roads and generally not engaging the brain. I have to say the Vec has been a star on Ice and Snow.

Both the Signum (3.0 Cdti) and Astra (1.9 Cdti) are pretty good in the snow -like sb1uk says, a heavy engine over the front wheels makes a difference, as does lots of torque at low revs. I was impressed with a Ferrari 355 I saw the other day, making careful but steady progress on snow!
The main issue isn't how your car is, though, it's all the other planks sliding around using 9,000 revs to try and get going!

    Phil
