    Default air bag deactivation

Hey all. I am looking to turn off the passenger airbag so I can safley put a child baby seat int he front of the car.

Is this possible and if so is it a tech2 only job?

In answer to your question -

Not it cannot be turned off with Tech 2.
Only a very expensive car seat from vauxhall will "disarm" the air-bag, due to the presence of transponder, which tells the air-bag ecu that there is a child seat fitted in the front seat.

Personally, I would rather throw the sprog (and child seat) into the back seat, where I could keep an eye on them via the rear view mirror.

And that's if the car is 'wired' up for it. It was an optional extra at cost, IIRC, and not standard fitment.
