    Default Good Deals?

just wondering if these are good deals, my work (a Citroen dealership) have 3 Vectras and a family member is planning on buying a Vec soon, obviously I'll get a couple of hundred knocked off due to working for them but are these reasonable deals:

    06 06 Vectra 1.9 CDTI 120 SRI, 5 door, black, 10,000 miles, £10,288
06 06 Vectra 1.8 VVT SRI NAV, 5 door, star silver, full factory colour satellite navigation, 9000 miles, £9988
06 06 Vectra 1.8 VVT 140 SRI NAV, 5 door, kinda greeny-bluey colour, 9000 miles, full factory colour satellite navigation, £9988

    all are facelifts

Seem about on the money, the diesel is the one to have though, 1.8 seem to be gutless and not very frugal.

Diesel is still a better buy, better resale and probably around £1000 a yr better off at the pump, plus the one he has mentioned is black, colour of my moment

Yeah, I can understand that mate, there is somethings you can do to help preserve a turbo btw, the 1st is to make sure you dont go above 10k without an oil change regardless of what Vx say, the other is to let the engine idle for a minute before turning the engine off, it allows the oil to coll a bit and prevents the oil carbonising in the turbo and forming particles.

When buying get the car on Network Q, then wait a few days and you get an option to add a second years Network Q for £250
Also consider adding the Complete Protection Plan, as you can pay that monthly by Direct Debit Interest Free, and can include all servicing and brake pads / discs!

I do have to agree the 1.8 is gutless, but good for a top speed
The 1.9 has much more acceleration, but flattens off at high speed
I compared those two and the 3.0 V CDTI...

I had this argument when discussing my service requirements at my local VX dealerships Service Dept

I do about 35K miles, so have taken out a Complete Protection Plan on 40K miles a year
The first service will be due at June 07 or 30K miles (so more likely to be 30K miles)
However, the Service Indicator is working out that the first service is due at 46K miles!

They advised me to go by what the service indicator says!
    That's crazy...

So I called Network Q and they advised me that it would indeed by 2 years/ 30K miles

I feel this is too long for the oil and would like to half the intervals, and pay for an additional oil and filter change at 10K or 15K miles
On this point both the VX dealership and Network Q didn't recommend this
