    Default Wing-Mirrors.

Ok one of the things on the snagging list for when I bought my

    2.0 DTi 54 Plate Vec

    was the wingmirros.

the left mirror moves ok on its own.... but when i got to move the right one (drivers side) it moves the passenger side at the same time..

Well the salesman sent it off to their workshop to get sorted....... and the technician came back and said thats normal for Vectras.....

Is this correct.... or am i being fed a load of trollop??

    He's right.

The early models moved each mirror separately when you pushed in the relevant button, but then they changed it to a feature that supposedly makes it more convenient.

What you do is push in the driver's side button and adjust the driver's mirror to suit - ignoring what the passenger mirror is doing. Then push in the passenger side button and adjust that accordingly (the driver's side mirror won't be moving when you do that).

Then the supposed advantage of the new feature is that if you then push the driver's side button back in again and adjust the mirrors (say pushing on the left rocker switch) you'll see both mirrors move inwards. It's meant to make it quicker to adjust the mirrors when somebody else drives the car as both mirrors move at the same time.

On my 03 I had the independent movement but this then changed to the new feature when I changed a door module when I did my folding mirrors mod. At first I thought but then you quickly get used to it. I don't really need it on mine anyway as I have memory seats.

No probs - it's weird until you get used to it which doesn't take long.

I've come from driving VWs and they all do that, so it hasn't been too much of a shock.

Don't all Vectra Cs/Signums do it then?

No, on the earlier ones (up to around 04 I think) the mirrors worked independently i.e. each switch only moved that specific mirror.
