Default Broken down - Any suggestions?

    Hey guys,

Car has broken down, power steering and abs lights came on, and steering went heavy whilst driving. Pulled over and. Ow car won't start. Put the ignition on, no engine turn over at all, following lights on the dash:

    Oil
    battery
    abs
    power steering
    engine mgt light

Car did start once after leaving it for 10 mins but won't start again. Breakdown on their way, any ideas chaps??

    Cheers
    Aidi

Alternator by the sounds of it bud. Get it started and get a multimeter over the battery, 13.5-14.4 below 13.5 and its definitely the alternator.

Car has been recovered to a garage. They can't even get it turning over using a booster pack. All lights, windscreen wipers work etc. it's as if the immobiliser has locked out. Only other history with the car is cim module problems, so they are going to check that. Connection. Not looking good at the moment

They found the reason why it would not turn over, it had blown a fuse. Not sure which one, but it wasn't one that was obvious. Looks like a new alternator and battery are being fitted. Hopefully will be back on the road shortly. The bill will be interesting!!!

Plot thickens.... Alternator replaced along with battery, fuse blew as soon as it cranked over. Run out of time so car is staying in the garage till next week. What was looking promising is now turning into an expensive nightmare

I'd put money on the starter, do you know which fuse was blowing?

Sounds like something in the starter circuit is shorting out and busting the fuse... Depends which fuse though, as above.
