    Default Whistling Noise When Revving

    This is not my day for noises.

    I find after driving home from work about 10 mile down a motorway i pull up outside my house and when i rev the engine to about 2k and then let off the accelerator it makes a slight whistling noise as the revs drop.
    does anyone know what this is or have had this problem?

    My Car is a 2.2 Direct

    Its a N/A mate, so no boost. Its most likely to be an air leak from the TB back inc vac hoses. If the revs sit just above 6000 at warm idle then there is no leak. It could also just be the revving lump trying to suck air through your closed TB. Just do the usual 2.2 maintenance job of cleaning your TB and i'll bet you be fine.
