    Default CD70 Radio code

    Hello,

Can anyone tell me if the security code on my car pass is the
    radio code for a CD70.

The reason i am asking is i have nothing next to my radio code and i am
planning on disconnecting my battery to reset the spanner fault light.
    Thanks,
    Brian

The newer 'full canbus' units don't have a code, it's all installed/taken out via tech2.
Disconnecting the battery won't affect the unit. (apart from losing the stations maybe)

Have you resolved the problem that put it on in the first place?
If it's remaining on when the engine is running, then you haven't.
If it is remaining on until the engine is running, then it's only indicating a stored fault and will clear itself within a number of clean start ups / number of days without the need to disconnect he battery.

Security code is the car immobiliser code. Certain programming operations by Tech 2 will require this to be entered to allow the technician to proceed. As above, no code on the CD70 required after disconnecting battery.

    Big Dave,

The spanner is only there until the engine starts, i caused it in the first place when i was spraying stuff called 10k boost into the air inlet (sprayed it in after the MAF sensor but had to disconnect the inlet pipe hence causing the fault).I have just connected the battery back up and the time/date has been reset but the spanner still shows upon switching the ignition on.
The reason i was trying to clear it is that this morning on the way home from work i had 2 large puffs of blue smoke when accelerating, i sometimes get smoke but nothing like this so wanted to see if there was a problem by clearing any stored faults and keeping my eye on it over the next few days.

Does disconnecting the battery actually clear stored fault codes anymore? It used to, but I suspect like anything else Vauxhall, it'll need tech2'ing to have them cleared (or as mentioned earlier, so many clean start ups/number of days.

i will just wait until it clears via amount of engine starts, i searched previous posts earlier to see if it can be reset so was worth a try.
Time to start annoying the neighbours with constantly starting it!
