Yes, it's time for new tyres.

My Kumhos were ruined thanks to some utterly rubbish Q-Drive upper control arms (bushes went floppy after 6 months and wrecked the rear camber, tyres bald on inside 3rd... grrrr!)

Currently got Falkens on the front which will be switched to the rear. Just need to decide what to put in their place.

Don't want anything too cheap, don't want anything too pricey. Just some nice mid-range rubber will do the job nicely.

What's everyone think? More Kumhos? More Falkens? Or something different?

There could be almost as many different replies to this question as types of tyres I imagine, but...

I currently have fitted some Lassa tyres on my rims (Same size iirc). I've had them on a year and a half, done about 25k on them, and there's still tons of rubber on them. They aren't the grippiest of things, but they are by no means anything near as slippy as some Goodyear eagles I've had on a previous car, so well within my tollerance levels.

I always believe that the gripper a tyre is, the less mileage it will do before needing replacing. I tend to drive rather conservatively anyway, so sliding round a corner doesn't really concern me. The Lassa's have been way better in the snow than the Bridgestone's in my opinion too - never really had any bother with this set wheras all over the shop on the Bridgestones.

To be honest, I think I would have paid a bit more than £65 a corner and gone for some main branded tyres if I could have afforded it at the time, but after having these on I'll be trying to get them again next time.

But... as I said at the start, everyone seems to have different views on tyres :-/

Never heard of Lassa, might have to take a look...

Avon's are tempting as they're not much more than the Kumhos and Falkens and always tend to get good reviews.

There are just sooooo many factors to choose from these days... The new EU rating system (letters A-G for fuel economy and grip, as well as the noise level) makes the job of choosing tyres even harder than before!

Khumos are fab. Running them on my 225/45/18s .. however, if I could get Neuton NT5000 I would as they are great too without the price. Running the Neutons on the 17s
