Small favour to ask z20net drivers, and anyone with access to epc. Could one of you kind folk take the plastic cover of your inlet side (I presume it just pulls off like my z22se) and take a few close up pics of your inlet manifold? The reason I ask is many of you will have seen the thread by Vid about his 2.4 inlet manifold, well the part is dam hard to get hold of and its price is bumped up because it can only be imported in from the U.S. Courtney did a group buy, but all have gone now (Vid has one of these). I'm thinking that the z20net being a very close relation to the z22se will have the same if not freer flowing inlet manifold as the 2.2. Also anyone with access to parts info, could you have a look to see if the part numbers are the same for both 2.0 and 2.2, also could you see if the 2.4 part number is on there and is it the same as the 2.0.
I know its asking a lot for the 2 parts to be the same but you never know.

Just for comparison, the one on the left is the 2.4 and on the right is the 2.2. You can clearly see the difference in bore size.

Just looking now for you m8. I'm pretty sure the 2.2 and 2.0 are different part numbers. What European models will the 2.4 engine be in?, to get a part number for it.

EDIT: 2.0T and 2.2 part numbers are different.

2.4 is only in USA GM's. If your inlet is larger its a start, its then finding if the ports are in the same place. Looking at a pic on the internet it looks like your tb is larger from looking at the pipework that leads to it.

PS it should have said FAO

In that case I can't get a part number of it.

    tb?

Here's some illustrations of the two manifolds......

    2.0T

    2.2

Bit of a difference in shape and also the position of the main inlet. On the 2.0T this will be coming from the intercooler, on yours it must be straight from the air intake? The difference in shape, I assume, is probably due to the air on the 2.0T being compressed by the turbo, and obviously not on the 2.2 - so I don't know what effect that will have even if you could get the manifold to fit and match up with the air intake.

Anyway, hope it's of some help.

What a great read!!! Very impressed by his improvisation and solutions to things - like squashing the metal intake pipe to be oval with his little home made gizmo - fantastic!!

    Hi mate,

the part number for the 2.4 manifold is:

    12587878 - according to vocky

I couldn't make out a part number on mine? Strange!! There is a sticker with:

22591597 on it, but thats all! The grid for the number has loads of points in so impossible to get a number from that. HTH

Great help thanks Duncan, the pics were perfect for what info I was after. Unfortunately the bore size looks about the same as the 2.2 and nowhere near as big as the 2.4 manifold, also tbh it looks a bit more restrictive in flow then the N/A manifolds, but I suppose its got great big turbine pushing the air through. TKS again.

Cheers Vid, I'm just looking for other alternatives to the 2.4 because of its availability. I hear Courtney might be doing another group buy in the future, but you know whats it like, best laid plans, and all that.
