    Angry Taking the micky ?

On my way home tonight, listening to the local BBC radio station, comes the story about a former boss of BP (i think it was) who said
"All new cars should be able to do at least 35 mpg, anything lower and it shouldn't be allowed on our roads !"

If this ever happened, most folks would naturally switch to a diesel.
Then the price would rocket to twice what it is now and we'd all get shafted again !

TAX - TAX - TAX ! Wheres Robin Hood when you need him ???

Have consideration for the deaf, if you're gunna fart, make it smell !

And what's the betting that he's said that having benefited from being chauffeured around in a dirty great Merc or Beemer when head of the oil giant? I have no doubts his healthy pension is, in part, paid for by the average punter filling up his car.....

here's a link for you news

I saw one today and it has been styled by someone who worked for British Leyland in the 70's, as for the tech of the car it lets itself down by kicking the engine back in at 30mph, had they up'd this to say 40mph they would be on a winner as the 40mpg would probably rise to 60+ for urban users, as for BMW they ain't stupid I believe they are launching Hydrogen cars in 2010, and I hope it ends the monopoly the oil companies hold right now, us commoner's will get the same tech from Toyota and Honda because all these companies are progressive and move forwards, LPG is still a good alternative to 100% fossil fuel, but instead of encouraging it our leaders make no attempt to lower the fitting cost or make it so cheap it's impossible to ignore, the average conversion costs £2000, this is for a fuel tank a strip of nozzles and an ECU, I bet the whole lit costs no more than £100 to manufacture, if you could get it fitted for £800 it would be a very good option, and to finish off, the reason fossil fuel is so expensive now is because of the smoking ban, they know they are gonna be hugely out of pocket at the end of the financial year and are getting the losses back from us motorists, notice I'm here rather than at work, the reason is I'm not prepared to sit in a car for 5 hours on a Monday to take £20, and this is because smokers are staying home and non smokers that were supposed to take up the slack in the new super clean pub enviroment are doing what they always did, stay indoors and go to bed at 10:30pm.
