It can be done, but its a *****! I would have taken my bumper off when I did mine but it would also have meant removing the number plate, stuck on with 3M double sided tape, and the number plate surrounds which are screwed into the crash bar behind the bumper so I choose not to take the bumper off. I did however have to unscrew the sides of the bumper and pull the out to help gain access to get the top screw fitted, It really would have been easier just removing the number plates and surrounds........... Did you get the small plastic clip which holds the top of the fog light into the front bumper?

It can be done on a Pre-Facelift, but not on a facelift.

I fitted my fogs with the bumper in place, but with the engine under-shield removed.
    Mine is a 2005 Pre-Facelift.

Also mine has a non-programmable under hood module, and so it could not be programmed to take fogs.. I fitted mine in a slightly tidier method than that in the Armoured Farmour How 2.

Regarding screws, just fit one way screws or anti-tamper screws..
We fitted a pair of these screws and 7 strips of bumper fixture adhesive pads after our plates were stolen 18 months ago.
No chance of getting them off now

As per your PM, this is how I did mine,

Firstly as you asked, yes, I just jacked the front of the car up and put it on axle stands.

To fit the fogs themselves to the bumper, you literally just need two self tapping screws to fit each light in place...
Available for pence from Vauxhall. Note though that the correct Vauxhall screws are torx / star headed, although a standard self tapping screw should fit nicely.

    THE ELECTRICS BIT

    1) Take a feed from the grey/green wire for the cigar lighter.
    Feed this to a switch
    2) from the other side of the switch, run a wire to the control pin of a relay
    3) Run an earth tag wire to the other relay control pin
    4) Then take a fused feed from your battery and run this to one of the "controlled" pins of the relay
    5) from the fourth leg of the relay, run your wires to the fog lights (live side).
    6) from the other pins of your foglights, run a feed to earth.

See image at the bottom, for my wiring diagram..
Note, I fitted my relay in the battery box

    THE FITTING BIT
    What I did was..
    1) Remove under engine tray.
    2) pop out / unclip the black plastic blanking trims from the bumper
    3) connect up the wiring to suit, if present , it will be connected to the loom for the temperature sensor plug at the base of the radiator grille.
Check that the electrical side of thngs work, before fitting the fogs to the bumper.
    4) Attach each fog lamp to the bumper.(using self tappers) The screws will be quite tight into their holes.
    5) Clip in new black trim next to the fog lamp.

Check that the lights still work as expected, before refitting the engine under tray, and lowering the car back onto the ground.

This is from memory, but I believe that you should find this to be accurate.

Can someone point me to the howto. I have a pretty bog standard vectra C with rear fogs and, having had a dipped beam bulb blow and it being a pain to change at the roadside figure fitting some fog lamps would be an ideal get home solution to make things easier
