Default Hard ride with a VXR kit?

Looking at getting a Veccy estate CDTi and having the VXR kit fitted including the wheels. But i'm a bit concerned about the ride with the 19" on, has anybody got this fitted and if so is the ride hard?

Also how much do the tyres generally cost and how long do they last?

Ride is ok but there's a trade off...road noise is quite intrusive with 19's, I can't speak for 18's sorry.

19" tyres, I get my Continental CS3's at £172 each...dear I know but they last 18k on the front and 28k on the back.

Toyo's and Goodyear F1's would probably only last 10k or so on the front.

Ive got the 19" snowflakes that come with the XP kit on my estate and i also think the ride is ok, I also have IDS+ fitted aswell and sometimes its like being on rails.. My car only has 305miles on it now but im well happy with the 19" Snowflakes.. My shogun Sport i had before the vecyy estate had 22" rims and they were also noisy but lasted well..

The ride is fairly hard i must admit, but I don't find the road noise too bad. It does crash a bit over potholes though.
Mine's done just about 17k now and it's still on the original tyres, so I reckon I might squeeze 20k out of the front set.
Some people have complained in the past that 19's make it handle badly. However, I've found that it handles really well compared to my 2004 vectra which had 17's.

Pete, Full remap and only 25 miles in the last 3 weeks, whats going on, drop it down and I'll pop some miles on , 2400 so far !

I've got the same set up a Pete, IDS plus and 19" , the road noise it a little louder that the 17" approx 10/15% (I think mainly due to the tyres the dealer fitted thou) I would rather have the 19" fitted than the 17", I think the ride is much better with them fitted and the car handles like a dream with and without sport mode in.

But then I like it FIRM !

I found the pre-facelift Vectra SRi to be too harsh on 19's, but the facelift cars are quite composed.

My Signum had the 19's, and the sports suspension, I traded it in today and the tyres (Dunlop SP Sports) were currently on 26000 miles.

    Go for it my man!!
