whats remap and whats it do??? sorry..
A remap is where the ecu is re-programmed, this changes things like the fuel/air mixture it removes flat spots across the rev range and gives you better throttle response aswell as giving you more power and torque. It basicle fine tunes the ecu program.
how much is it and where can i get it done.?.
there are various companies who will do it for you, and as a guide it will cost around £350 to £500 depending on who you go to..
Lee, to cut a long story short, basically, you give a bloke with a computer £500 of your hard earned, he plugs in a computer, you drive home and say '**** me, how quick is this thing?'
Job done. Worth doing. may even make it better on fuel!
good call
Yep - what they said.
Most remaps seem to give similar power and torque increases, to around 190/195 BHP. Spoons and Matt (sorry, Maverick ) have had theirs done by 888 / VXRPC and are very pleased with the results, just don't ask nutron his opinion!
Celtic Tuning are a mobile service and will come to you, and claim the highest figure i've seen so far - 205BHP from a CDTi 150, but how they can prove that with no RR, I don't know.
I think it's a case of you get what you pay for...
A 3.2 will be up around 250bhp after a remap.............if it is done correctly
