I lived in a haunted house for 10 months back in 1998. I was renting a 'flat' in a villiage in Oxfordshire (Sutton Courtenay, between Didcot and Abington). It was in the servant quarters of Sutton Courtenay manor which was built around 1690. I used to hear foot steps, a woman crying etc regularly. Very spooky, especially returning home late at night as Ihad to walk down a pitch black entry and through a gate to get into the flat. Never actually hunted for a ghost.
I don't believe in all this spirit mumbo jumbo.
Have done quite a bit of haunted location work as filming / editing is my hobby and the thought of trying to catch something paranormal appealed to me, and wanted to see if these tv shows were really showing us the real thing. A few unusual things have happend that I can't quite explain, few anomalies caught on camera over the years...but anything conclusive or completely amazing? No. I do believe there is something, but don't believe all I see on the telly. Some of it is true, compared to things I have caught, but the majority of it is not
I'm mostly a sceptic, wife is a believer, we've watched a lot of the Most Haunted progs - and been to a few of the Live ones. They do bill it as entertainment, not fact.
Two things witnessed/experienced. One duty NcO on one RAF base I had to do key checks. In one building you had to turn a right angle, go down three steps and along a long corridor to check the fire door was properly closed. I hated it, as, every time I got to the third step, I'd feel icy cold, the hair on my neck and head would stand on end, and I'd have an intense feeling of being watched, all the way down to the fire door and back.
Where we live now, the last tenant died in the house, even after sugar soaping the entire wall and ceiling area, then redecorating (heavy smoker and 1970's timewarp) we still occasionally smell fresh cigarette smoke. My wife says her father and my mother sometimes visit, both long dead. I got up to go to the toilet one night, glanced into the lounge, and clearly saw my mother standing there. Scared the hell out of me!
Grumpy, I can tell you one RAF base that is haunted from experience - RAF Uxbridge. Use to use the transit accomodation there quite often and I have felt things and I have known some friends get the poo scared out of them!
I have not however I have taken photos in some weird and creepy places. Denbigh asylum was the worst. Jesus that place scared the crap out of me. If you're interested I'll upload some photos for you or anyone who wants to see them. First shoot I did there I got a text from a number I didn't know saying: "Hey I've just seen you and mum, love you x." Creeped the hell out of me, I had no phone signal the entire time I was there. Never do due to the location.
If you're into things like that, and have time to watch a movie, I thoroughly recommend a Japanese one called Noroi. You get used to the subtitles after a while but wow that scared me more than any other film I've seen. Someone has uploaded it to Youtube. It's called Noroi: The Curse. whole thing is on there split into about 10 parts.
yea mate fire up some photos if you can
