    Default 2 year service

My cars due its 2 year service next month! i really dont want to pay £260 for a selection of parts that come up to £80! vauxhall said any vat registered garage can service my car if they use aproved parts. has anyone else done this and has anyone had any problems with warranty afterwards?

    Thanks

The only problem you may get is after the warranty expires vx can help with the cost of repairs, but the first thing they look for is a full vx service history

My local dealer did mine in May for 190quid which included the brake fluid change as well.

Another dealer local to me quoted nearly 270 however so it pays to shop around...

    Default don't get done!

We are due our two year service and so we contacted Croxhill Fast Fit, in Middlesbrough, a garage we have trusted and used for years. £160 for full service, not bad we thought. Hubby phoned the Vauxhall dealership in Stockton who quoted £210. All other half said was, no thanks, we have been quoted cheaper.........like £150 (little liar), he was put on hold and lo and behold, they came back offering to match the quote. Shop around, then phone your dealership, it was well worth it for us

Ask for the price EXCLUDING the system clean and engine flush!
The engine flush in unnecessary (after all that is the whole point of an oil and oil filter change) and the system clean you can do yourself for about £5 (equally what is to say they didn't just charge you for it but didn't actually supply it)

My two local VX dealerships are £150 plus VAT
However be aware that is using 10w40 oil which may not meet the warranty specification
If you want (or actually need) the correct oil you need to ask for it, and that adds about £25

i was looking through the forum and found this.

in my service book it says Service evy 20,000 or 2 years

does that sound a bit to long.

i'm sure air filters and oil dont last that long.
