Hi can anyone tell me if there is a way of telling if my car has 16 or 8 valves as presumed it was an 8 valve the engine type is Z19DT.

There is a simple way by looking at the oil filler cap which side it is.
Someone will post up a pic soon so you can see the differance.
Hope you have the 8 valve less trouble no DPF.
Oil cap on the right = 150/16v
Oil cap on the left = 120/8v

I have heard the early 120's were a de-tuned 16v but could be wrong.
16 valve 120 engines were only fitted to Vectra and Signum on the continent. In the UK they only made it to some Astra's, then they starting fitting the 8V Z19DT.
Only Astra had the 120ps 16v (Z19DTJ), all vectra/signum 120ps versions in europe are 8v (Z19DT)
