    Default board computer

    hi all i filled up today with diesel and the light was on and computer said 4miles left i stuck a tenner in and the needle took ages to register about 6 or 7 miles for the light to go off. but the board computer still says 0 miles and every time i start the car up it says 0 miles petrol station i am going to fill up again today and see if it changes but what has caused this any ideas please thanks??

    I had this happen to me, the problem went away when I brimmed the tank. No idea why it happend though. hth

    this usually happens to me if i run the tank down to much mucker but does go after a while i wud bet a gallon of juice thats all it is

    It happens if you still have the car on or with ignition on, when you refuel.

    keys out, then it wont happen.

    Happened to me, and I never leave the keys in the ignition when I refuel. It would be goodbye Veccy around here.

    Then it must be a very small amout of fuel going in..

    had this once before on my 55 plate face lift fuel got so low that computer said zero miles left and i only had a £10 on me stuck that in and the computer still said zero miles but as soon as i filled up with half tank plus all went back to normal ...
    fill it up to at least half a tank and all will be well

    I guess £10 aint enough for it to trip the sensor when the tank is this empty.

    I haven't got the trip computer but I am a student so it always gets £10 worth here and there! The feul light is pretty much perminantly on becasue it doesn't seem enough to register. If I put half a tank in it goes.

    stuck in 20 quid today and all is well registered as soon as ignition on so like you guys say must be only a litle fuel must not be enough

    thanks for your help at least its not just me lol
