Does anybody have a tech2 system? I need my emissions light reset coz its all on the time due to having the cat converter changed... and i refuse to fork out another 40 quid to the same garage to put it on tech2 again?!

I would have thought, if the work you've had done is causing the light to come on then it should be upto the garage to sort it out.

Just disconnect the battery for 20-30 mins mate, that will clear the fault.

Or you could just leave it - if the problem has been fixed the light should turn off anyway.

Disconnecting the ECU or battery wont clear the fault fully, emmisions related fault codes are stored in the ECU permanetly until erased with diagnostic equipment or after 30 clean engine starts (on some ECU's) in much the same way as an engine control map is permanently stored, irrelevant of voltage supply.

Disconnecting the battery simply resets the canbus and some other systems, it also resets the ECU so it re-boots (on some ECU's)

If you need the fault erasing permanently feel free to call in to PDtuning, it shouldnt take us more than 10 mins.

would a tech 2 clear my problem of the steering wheel ! mark light. my power steering fluid was low and when i topped it up the light has stayed on since. had it to a bloke with this hand held thing but it never cleared the fault light. don't know if it was a tech 2 but he said it cost about £3500 and it plugged in under the ash tray in the front. power steering is perfectly normal though no actual problems. its frustrating when i payed the bloke £20 to look at the light and reset it...if anyone could help it would be appreciated.
