    Default silverline

    Hi Guys awaiting delivery on a silverline rotary polisher,can someone give me a guide as to what else I am gonna need,ie backing plate,pads polishes etc,this is my first venture with a machine polisher so please talk me thro ilike i am an IDIOT... its really gonna be used on my car only for light polishing work as my car doesnt really need any major correction work ( in my opinion lol) but also I am soon to be buying my daughter a 1st car runabout and want to try to improve it using the rotary..thanks in advance for all the help about to come my way...

    i would advise going over to detailing world which would help you more with guides etc would advise myself but havnt got the knowledge yet lol

    hi m8
    get rid of the pads that come with it and get some mequiars or sonus pads 7 and 4 inch,
    as for polishs it all down to personal choice but i use the poorboys swirl removal stuff and the blackhole glaze.
    if you use a swirl remover use the finest one first untill you get the hang of it.
    slow and gentle and check you work all the time and you should be fine.

    Rotary's have a female fitting backing plate and the DA's have male fittings. I bought a silverline and was in the same boat as you but I got a semi-decent backing with mine.

    I went for yellow pads - AFAIK, they are the fine ones so not too abrasive.

    I got my stuff from polished bliss and they were great. I paid too much for postage (yes, I am stupid!) and they refunded immediately! And items arrived within 2 days.

    I bought all my hardware for my Silverline from Autobrite, I got AB backing plates and Megs Pads.
