Default 2.0 LS 2003 front fogs

    Hi All

May sound like a silly question... however I just brought a 2003 2.0 LS vectra which has front fog lights. I cannot find the front fog light switich - only the rear light switch.

Am I correct in saying that the LS comes with the foglights already attached but not wired?

Upon closer inspection I think my fog lights have bulbs in them!

I would say they have been retro fitted by the previous owner but the switch module has not been changed. Dont know how much they are but visit a dealer and find out get one. I would go as far as to say that would sort your troubles but I am assuming the wiring loom is there - as most veccy's of that year have wiring looms that are not connected to the hardware which is missing.

On the switch module near the door - looking at it I assume there is only one button on the left of the headlight switch dial?

Doesn't it also have to be Tech2 enabled because of the canbus system?

thought the half canbus was easier for the driver/owner, and full canbus was easier for the dealer/vauxhall.

2003 is half canbus but that may be a point too.

The switch for both front and rear fog switches is approx £40, however fitting the switch does not automatically activate the front fogs.

I did a retro fit on a full canbus car...took it to Vauxhall for tech 2 enabling...and nothing...they said part of the wiring was missing!! but they won't tell you where.

Ended up putting a rocker switch in the position of the front fog switch, and using relays etc..as we did in the good old days!!

There is a similar How 2 thread on the forum by armoured farmer.
