    Default Stealer chipped my wheel

    Hi everyone,

My partner's car has been in the bodyshop for a week to have the bonnet resprayed as the job wasn't right when they first did it, before she brought the car, under certain angle of the sunlight a black patch can be seen.

Anyway went down today to check to see if they have done the respray, which they have, jobs a good one, which is fantastic, then i inspected the rest of the car, all seems ok, until i come across the nearside front wheel, its chipped. The wheel was perfect when it went in.

She doesn't want to leave it with them any longer, she really misses her car, and no spare wheel we can fit on.

Not happy. I wonder if they took the car out for a spin as well, she got the mileage written down before leaving the car with them.

No definately not there, the tyre is not new tyre, and she cleaned the wheels recently and it wasn't there.
Although they have painted the sidewall of the tyre. Now that you mentioned about the tyre.

I would suggest they would say prove it was them tbh. I had a car in to a body shop in Edinburgh once and I had an item stolen out of it, I tore the workshop manager a new ********, but he wasn't interested as I couldn't prove it was there when the car went in.

Well its worth trying. I think we all learn from our mistakes. We should take photo evidence of the car when going into the garage.

the chip doesn't look new to me, looks like lots of road film ingrained in it. Even if they have done the chip in the wheel I doubt you could persuade them to agree that they have done it i'm afraid.

exact justice and return their courtesy car with a nice scrape!

Yeah, but they have inspected it before handing over to my partner and got her to sign the paperwork.

Maybe we should do the same lol. Anyone got a template for it.
