Computer wiz's please help

I have a brand new laptop running Vista.
When i use the internet to veiw vectra-c it works fine.
When i go onto Ebay.co.uk the page only opens halfway and locks up, If i try to close the browser it will not let me. I have to go to Task manager and close it down via that. It's only Ebay thats giveing me this issue as far as i can see.
I downloaded AVG antivirus 8.0 and run it and it found no problems.
Can anybody help i'm clueless

Is this using Internet Explorer?

Have you run Windows Update to fully update Vista? Also, have you checked what versions of Java and Flash you have installed?

(I'm sure that you're going to get lost of suggestions to dump IE and use Firefox/Opera etc but I've got Vista and use IE most of the time with no issues)

Yes internet explorer

It has been working fine for the past couple of weeks. But it just don't want to do it now.

In internet explorer, I'd clear out the cache. Tools-Internet options-general -browsing history-delete.

and then try deleting the cookies.

check the version of Internet explorer if it says 8 it is a beta that got pushed out via VISTA update on some machines, ie8 does not work properly with ebay, uninstall ie8 and ie7 will come back.
