First time it happened I pulled over immediately and checked the oil - it is just slightly under the max mark. I started up again and the light went off immediately and stayed off for the rest of the journey. However yesterday it did the exact same thing - came on, then went off after stopping for a few mins. It does go immediately off on starting, it doesn't stay on a few seconds.
Could this just be a sensor fault or something more sinister? The oil and filter were changed 10k miles ago by the (non Vauxhall) main dealer I got the car from. They said they had used official Vx oil and filter, and for the last 10k miles since the fill I've had no issue.
I'm getting the oil changed next week in any case, and I'm a bit confused; the car has a main dealer history and up to the last service had been filled with 10w40. The last fill was 5w30. Thing is, according to the handbook 10w40 isn't recommended - is this correct?!
Any help would be great. Thanks
