i wish to get a screen for my kid due to going on a road trip around Europe
so i was thinking if i will need to use screws to middle cross bar or use sticky pads or heavy duty Velcro pads as shown in "HOW 2"

These none VX screens are pretty light. There held up with the roof lining. You put a metal plate on the top of the roof lining and the screen base on the inside so the roof lining is sandwiched in between with screws joining them both. There is no bounce but you may have to hold the base while opening the screen depending on how firm the hinges are. If you do find flex or bounce then affix the metal plate to the metal roof with sticky back pads.

If you want to fit the screen to the cross member you will find its too far back so uncomfortable to view on long journeys and also the screen will block the rear view, but fitted in the same place as the how 2 you can still use the rear view mirror.
