    Angry Limp home mode

Any thoughts please , car suddenly gone into limp home mode, max revs 3000 with no turbo, engine and spanner lights on.
Not smoking or burning oil just no turbo and limited on revs.
Have it booked into dealers tomorrow for diagnostics.
    Vectra c 1.9 diesel Automatic. 2004.
    Thanks Brian

DPF.........possibly, although I'm not 100% sure you would have one on a 2004, but quite possible if its an early CDTI. If they do get a DPF related DTC on the diagnostics, and the dealer recommends a new one, think carefully and explore other options!!

A forced regen of the DPF should really be included in your hours labour charge/diagnostics fee

Sorry to hear m8. I had spanner light and limp mode happen four times on way to South of France in summer I sh*t myself. When I arrived I gave car a good looking over only to find it was a loose brake light bulb shorting the electrics. You never know m8 it may just be something silly. Good luck.

    Should be, but wont be.

Most VX stealers dont have the proper knowledge of TECH2 and certainly wont add 'extras' into a £75 +VAT scan.

Personally, I'm getting fed up of Vauxhall technical guys being incompetent of using TECH2, telling customers "it cant be done".

    Default update-limp home

Thanks for all the suggestions, don't think car has a DPF.
Took car to dealers this morning, Tech2 showed code P1109, Swirl acuator malfunction.
Investigation showed that the arm was off the swirl vales on inlet manifold.
Dealer charged me £ 20.68 including VAT for investigation and quoted £450 including VAT to fit a new inlet manifold.
I am now off to the How2 section to see how to fix it.
    Will keep thread updated.

Seems like a very reasonable price for a dealer, given that its a 3-4 hour job.

I tried the D.I.Y fix for the swirl valve rod.......it did not work!!

    Unhappy

I have tried the £1 fix, the rubber did not stick to the plastic very well ,come apart with little effort. It was worth a try.
Now getting quotes for new inlet manifold.

was the bar completely off? if it wasn't you can take it off completely and it might prevent P1109 - unless swirl valve 3 is sticking. obviously the only real fix is new manifold i'm afraid.

The bar was completly off. I will check to see if no.3 is free, the others are free to move.
