Thumbs down Network Q No mods?

    Hello all,

I was hoping to add bilstein shocks and eibach springs to my car but i have a problem. I emailed network Q to find out how it would effect the warranty and they have informed me that the entire warranty would be void. The exact wording was:

" I can confirm under the terms and conditions of your Network Q Warranty that any modifications to the vehicle would invalidate your policy indefinitely."

This seems a bit harsh, I was expecting that the suspension would no longer be covered but not the entire car! I am surprised too because I already emailed them before I put the new wheels on and they just said that those parts would no longer be covered.

Anyone else have experience with network Q and modifications? I wonder just what I would be able to get away with, or is it just a case of having to wait a year before doing anything else?

    thanks

    ben

Thats balls, i was informed that the warranty would only be voided on the areas that you have modified, so in this instance the springs wouldnt be covered, or the shocks.

That was straight from a VX dealer, with assurance from the manager.

I'd get on the blower to them and slug it out

But they could argue that modifying the suspension could put extra stress on other parts and prematurely wear them.

    Thanks for the replies

Hopefully it is a case that only the suspension would be voided. I don't really see how the clutch, engine, electrics, etc would be adversely effected by adding different springs & shocks.

Anyone else have experience with this?

Presumably you'd be doing them a favour. They won't have to pay for broken standard springs!

    that's a good point!

I've had a look at the conditions of the warranty and AFAIK the shocks aren't covered anyway, not sure about the springs. Would I be forced into refitting vauxhall shocks rather than Bilsteins?

The car's due to go to the dealer tomorrow to have the clutch judder looked at so I will try and have a chat with the service people there. At the end of the day they're the ones who would be doing any warranty work anyway.

I was told the same as Barkzz by Arnold Shark when they were replacing my rear springs and shocks under the NetQ warranty.

Hope this will be the case, I really don't want to wait till next year to fit some better springs.

Not sure about the shocks, but i have Eibach springs on mine.... they came supplied in a dark black/purple metallic... now with 5000miles on them, you'd never know they were after market! The look same as a standard dirty black set under there... And its not as though Eibachs take em to low, just enough to look sweet, and handle better!

    ......... whos to know
