    Default Getting the power down.

is there a best way to get the power down with a front wheel drive car?

My astra can spin in third gear if the aceleration is pushed its pretty easy to be honest boot it from stand still and you dont move much just spin the wheels

    Any tips?

Get it rolling before giving it too much with the loud pedal. Once the wheels are spinning then you can quite easily keep them spinning into 3rd gear.

I go for medium acceleration in first gear, early change to second then squeeze the pedal right to the floor. Don't stamp on it, you'll just break traction again.

I'd just drive properly and get 5k more out of my tyres and 5 mpg more.

Blend the throttle, easy to do and keep maximum power at all times, just takes fine tuning although I do enjoy just flooring it and spinning them up some times LOL.

Presumably, this is the Astra VXR?
If so, does it not have Traction Control?
If it does have Traction Control, then compare with it on and off
If there is no difference then there is a fault

I used to be able to get my Vectra SRi140 to wheel spin in 4th gear, a quick visit to the dealership and the nearside ABS sensor was found to be displaced, so it was replaced the following day and that fixed the problem

In the Westfield i can spin the wheels in any gear at pretty much any speed in the wet, up to 4th in the dry. Best to get it nice and straight, put the power on slightly 1st and then floor it, doesn't jolt the wheels as much if you catch my drift?
