    Question timing belt kit ?

its my understanding that the belt kit on the cdti should be done at 100k , now while flicking through the service book earlier i noticed the belt had been done at 55k ! i was planning to do the belt in the next week or so as the car is at 91k ! so do i need to if the service book is correct ?

right but if the original belt is good for 100k , how long will the second one last ?

imo the original belt is only good for big mileage if it's motorway miles... if not, i personally wouldn't go more than 60k.
was the water pump done at the same time as the belt, if not do the lot as & when you can afford it.
Vx will tell you plenty of crap tbh... but if that belt doesn't last 100k, they won't be replacing your motor for free.

As above, half the original interval if you are in doubt
As it was done at 55K, I would go for the next one at 110K miles, and no more than 120K miles

Why was it done at 55K miles?
Was that at just two years old?

I would ask that they could print off the receipt, blank out the previous owner, and then copy that for you
Ask if the work was paid for by the customer or Retailer Warranties Ltd

It might simply be an over cautious owner that had the cambelt done
However, it may be a warranty claim for a component driven by the cambelt

If the work was paid by Retailer Warranties Ltd, then contact them and ask what the warranty terms are
Normally the original warranty becomes void and is reduced to 1 year
This is a serious concern if it is a cambelt, the next owner needs to be aware of this
