    Default An ideas anyone ?

On how to get my snapped key out of my van ignition, ts a Peugeot Expert. I snapped it a while back and hav'nt got a spare, tried all the obvious things but cant get it out.
Everything works fine other than i cant keep my keys in the ignition, i have to start it then throw me keys on the dash. I had to bust my fuel cap off and order a new one.
I've been told by a key cutter that he can cut me a new one off the 2 halves.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Whoa, depends on how much grip you can get on it. If you can grip it with some needle nose pliars but it wont come out at the moment then as a last resort:

Hold a soldering iron to it for a minute and give it another try with the pliars.

None of the key in the ignition is visible so cant get any pliers on it.

Try putting a small amount of superglue on the bit of the key that you do have. (Just on the tip though).

I cant suggest much else. Other than, and this is a long shot:

Email Chris Dangerfield at UK Bump Keys. He runs a website for lock picking enthusiasts (not criminals), they spend all of their time working with locks as a hobby.

There is a website and forum, they may even like the challenge of answering the question.

    The website is: www.ukbumpkeys.com

The owner (Chris) has an email: chrisa@ukbumpkeys.com

Long shot mate but good luck

On the back of the barrel is there a pin hole to push out the piece of key stuck in it? Some have them for this very reason.

If not, and nothing else works, then you will have to remove the lock and buy a new one. Any decent breakers near you?

Dont think that site would be much of a help but watching about bumper keys is scarey say they can open most type of yale locks with only about a dozen bumper keys and leave no trace leaving you house insurance invalid!

Will take back apart at weekend and have a look

Yep but i think the key is chipped to the ecu cos when i put me fuel cap key in the ignition and try to start it, it wont, it must recognise its not the correct key, engine just turns, put the other half of my snapped key in, no probs. So would i then have to change the ecu ?

Yep very scary, I stumbled across them one day, dont even remember how. I bought a pick set from them and then went to b&q to buy the best locks I could find. Within 10 mins and following their advice I could pick the locks in seconds. It's obviously a hobby for most of them or shear interest like me, but a rude awakening. Most of the locks in your house are useless, so easily picked.

Even my sister could pick a lock within 5 mins of some basis tutition from me - a complete amateur.

I got bored after 2 days and cant even sell the pick set because ebay wont allow it - good for them actually.

The fob will hold the chip for the immobiliser, not the actual key
