    Is it the EML light.

If so, it may have gone into limp mode, wont rev past 3500 repm, but drives pretty normal other than that.

What engine is in it, if its petrol 1.8/2.0, my old one used to eat Cam/Crank sensor's for fun!

Its logged an error or then is an error still active, without doing the paperclip test or having fault codes read cant be of much further use to you..

just realised yours will be the facelift version and paperclip test may not work

Looks like a trip to a friendly garage with some fault code reading equipment..

As McPlasma said, you need to have the codes read by someone with a Fault Code reader. Some independant garage's have them, if not i would think it would be main dealer. As for cost, if it's the Cam Sensor, then they are £45 from Vauxhall, then the cost of fitting it, or you can get a pattern one from Partco for £29, thats what i paid just before Xmas for a 2.0 SRi.

IIRC the Crank Sensor was about £95 from VX when i did my old one, not sure if pattern one's are available tho.

But first and foremost, get the codes read, as i could be barking up the wrong tree!!

If it is a Cam/Crank sensor, ask them how much to fit it if you supply it, could save yourself a few quid that way.

You could try disconnecting the battery for half an hour or so. Just make sure you have the radio code etc.
