If works ask's you????

morning all just some advice please work rang me last nite asking if i could go in to do a night shift ( i was on holiday) i agreed to it and have just got home now whats the score with regards to say getting that day back i mean ill get paid the shift i have just done but do i ask for the day i lost paid and a extra day in loo

would have thought you could just get the days a/l back... no more than that..., if it had fallen on a BH then that would have been different..

ill ask them.... idealy i would like an extra day as through no fault of my own i had to come in

At the risk of teaching you to suck eggs, I'd have asked what the score was before agreeing to work my annual leave, as your employer now has you over a barrel - you've done the work regardless of how you are eventually compensated/paid.

Personally I'd have wanted my day's leave back and to be paid an enhanced rate for the hours I was coming in to work.

Is there anything in your contract/t&c's regarding such situations?
