    Default Service cost for 1.9cdti @ 100'000 miles.

    As above my vectra is ready for it's 100,000 mile service witch is a full service, My local stealers want £225 to do this, What would be the differance if I went to a independant garage as times are hard as xmas soon. Do they just change all fillters and oil.car is a 1.9cdti 16v 150.Thanks...

    shouldn't mater where you go realy as its just all the filters. + cambelt unless already done

    cam belt was done 10.000 miles ago at stealers will have a ring around and get some other prices...

    yes like i said all the filters is nothing special. not special tools or anything

    so could do it myself, How hard is the fuel filter to change.

    that is a bit fidley as its easier to remove the housing and do it all in a vice. change the filter top the housing up with fuel cleaner and screw back down. then refit the whole lot. you will need some big pipe grips to get round the housing. might be beter letting some one do it but cheaper

    Im due a major service, Interim/major/interim - now major.
    Would like to get it done cheaper elsewhere, but seeing as im taking an extended warranty, im going to be doing this major one at vx.

    Think they quoted around £225, though this will obviosuly go up after christmas

    It really depends on what work they are quoting for (age dependent)
    The basic service is about £150 plus VAT
    You may then need to add brake fluid renewal, etc
    Clearly they have not quoted for a cambelt change (see service book for interval), as that alone would probably be at least £200

    100k service only at Vaux main dealer nr Ipswich - £69 2 weeks ago, as its only basically an oil/ filter change. Last main service was £179. Cambelt change with new rollers (and water pump), plus brake fluid change was £337 last week.
