    Default Well its decision time

In my case of the clocked mileage. I have been offered a full refund or money back. It is now a soul searching decision time and your opinions as I would need to find another Vectra!

Personally I would be inclined to get my money back and find another vectra so I wouldn't have the problem of selling a "Clocked" car when coming to change it.

That is unless you have spent a lot of money, time and effort in getting it to exactly how you want it.

Only one person can make that decision.

If you do pursue the money back settlement, try and get a bit of a warranty added for your inconvenience incase something were to go wrong.

If it's running fine and your happy with it get a cash settlement and get someone to put the mileage back to what it should be, then you have no problems come selling time

just had a discussion about this with the lads in my office, we tend to agree with John. What percentage of the cars supposed value is being offered in compensation?

Unless you get the mileage set back to what it's meant to be.

The ecu keeps a record of the miles as well as the clocks. It's only the clocks that have been changed meaning the original mileage is still there

Car is a Jan 2008 reg. Car was bought with 18,450 on the clock and naturally no VSH I have contacted Vx Head office and they have no record of services but one warranty claim from June 2009 only. If I could verify it has had the 20K 40K services I would be far more inclined to keep the car, but thoughts of a DMF, and other things
Car found to have been clocked by 32,000 as it should read 50,000 (as at today four months later it is 23,500 / 55,000 verified as true miles from the ECU by a Vauxhall main dealer.

As for the compensation I will learn that tomorrow and would have pushed for at least 24 mo warranty as well.

I have done a fair bit to the car but apart from parking sensors everything is fully reversible.

Thanks for the opinions keep them coming

Exactly what I would do too. I'd defiantly push for an extended warranty of some description too, just for an extra bit of piece of mind.

Id be more inclined to hand the car back and find something else.
If you do go for keeping it with warranty etc. then Id make sure the DMF is covered and ask to see the terms and conditions surrounding it as its far to easy an item for a warranty company to list as fair wear and tear.
